08-Oct-2005 -- Having just successfully found N35 W106 we continued along the highway towards our next CP, N35 W105. Again we just set the GPS to the CP and counted down the distance until we come very close to the target area.
The CP is a little north of the I40, so as we approached the area we took the exit 256, which looked like it was going to take us straight to the CP, but as you pass a farm house on the left heading north the road takes you a little bit away from the target area. Parked the car up on a rise 637 metres north of the CP.
Kim decided that she was not going to visit this one as she was still getting prickles out of her sandals from N35 W106, so I left her to head out over the fence and toward the CP.
The area was flatter and less vegetation than N35 W106 [with] a few big cactus around. I could hear and see the traffic in the distance on the I40. With 160 metres to go before reaching the CP you pass the power lines, and then it is straight to the spot. While getting all the zeros I saw what I think was a hare not far away.
While walking to the CP I noticed how accurate the GPS was - some times it was showing 1 metre accuracy, the zero shot shows 2 metre accuracy, the most accurate zero photo I have taken.
Took all the photos and walked back to the car. My 2nd CP visit of the day, I was happy. We headed to a diner for lunch south of the CP at a place called Vaughn, I would recommend it!!
