29-Jun-2006 -- Although this confluence is quite far from the nearest major (or minor) highway, it is surprisingly easy to reach, because there are several dirt roads nearby. My GPS receiver's navigation software found the same dirt road used by the previous visitors - one that passes just 0.3 miles west of the confluence point, leading to an easy hike across flat terrain.
The confluence point lies in a flat desert area, with short scrubby vegetation growing in sandy soil with a thin crust. It is clear that - in the distant past - this area was all underwater. Much more recently, there has been lots of human presence in this area. Not only did I see the coax cable reported by Jack Frickey and Shawn Fleming, but I also found a rusted pipe fixture lying just feet from the confluence point.
