02-Aug-2006 --
Free of the responsibilities of work for a few weeks until school starts again I started planning for this visit a couple of weeks ago. Waited for a bad hot spell to end and temperatures to moderate. Then I had to wait for the rains to move on.
August 2nd 2006 was the day to get out of the big city and take a ride in the country. There is a county park very close to this spot and I took a trip there first to complete another hobby of mine, Geocaching.
The confluence located and picture taking began. All in all a very successful day. Weather was absolutely perfect.
Picture #1 is standing on the edge of the road facing south
the confluence just a few rows of corn in about 22 meters.
My GPSr reported an accuracy of 6 meters. I carefully walked between openings in the corn stalks so as not to damage anything. I walked up and down the rows till I found openings large enough for me to get through. Until I got a reading that showed all zero's. See picture #6. Oh the joy!
Picture #2 is facing east of where I was standing.
Picture #3 is Looking North and picture #4 is looking West.
