06-Sep-2006 -- Judging from our automobile map this should be an easy visit of a few kilometers in from a sideway of the highway. As it turned out, it was not. The forest and the shrubs were so dense that it was very difficult to see where you were going. The terrain was rather flat, but full of obstacles of fallen trees and bushes. The air was full of smells from juniper, rotting tree trunks and other things not easily defined. A sparrow hawk was hovering above, but few signs of other birds and animals were spotted. The dense forest made it difficult to get any perspective of the actual confluence point.
Without the GPS, or at least a compass, the return could have been tricky.
