(visited by James Woodson and John Mahaney)

14-Apr-2007 -- This was a the end of a very long yet productive day. We had been on a mission to visit as many sites and find as many geocaches as one can in one day. When traveling north from our previous find it was approximately 70 miles between degrees as the crow flies and at this latitude. Of course roads don't go where the crow flies.

As we approached this site it was indeed right in the middle of some pasture land. One very strange thing about the walk through the pasture is that there were nothing but dead animals. This is far more than I am used to seeing. These were mostly cows but we did see one deer also. I'm not sure what this means but as I said it is strange.

We did have to cross three barbed wire fences and use a fallen tree to negotiate a stream. The site was nestled in a group of trees near the bottom of a creek bed. Our equipment agreed again today on the exact location and again we felt confident that we were on the spot.

This was a near perfect end to a day of exploring that included observing all kinds of wild life, seeing varied terrain and enjoying nature. This is an excellent way to use high tech toys to have a purpose to get outside.
