13-May-2019 -- After visiting several Degree Confluence Points (farther to the West in Nebraska) that lie in flat, open farmland, it was nice to visit a more varied point. This point lies 1/3 mile East of a dirt road. After parking at the side of the road (on top of a hill), I hiked down the grassy hillside (dotted with small pine trees), then across a small, flat (and currently fallow) corn field, then across a small creek. As I crossed the creek, I was surprised to see fresh boot prints in the mud. Someone else had been here quite recently!

The Degree Confluence Point lies just East of the creek, next to a cypress tree. (At least, I think it was a cypress tree; it looked similar to Monterey Cypress trees that I had seen in their native California, or introduced in New Zealand.) I especially enjoyed the view to the West - showing oak trees (beside the creek), illuminated by the afternoon Sun.
