17-Nov-2008 -- This is the 45th of a series of 83 confluence visits during our voyage from Nigeria to Europe and back to Nigeria around the entire African continent. It all started on 28 January at 11N 5E.

Story continues from 27N 28E.

About halfway on the road between the oasis al-Farāfira and the oasis of al-Dākhila, 3 km off the main road is the Confluence. We managed to drive as close as 80 meters to the Confluence by driving along a wādiy. The remaining distance we walked.

The oasis of al-Dākhila is a wide-spread area and consists of about 600 springs. We spent the night at El Kashir.

Continued at 24N 33E.
