14-Jan-2001 -- The confluence is located in cleared grazing land, though
very desert like. Very few trees, most having been cleared years
ago.
The confluence was accessed by leaving the Barrier Highway near
Peterborough and heading down a dirt track until the confluence was
about 400 metres away. Curiously the dirt track had a gate with a
caution symbol on it but no indication of what it meant. As far as we
could tell the road was for public use. When as close as possible by
track we walked the last distance.
It was very hot with a number of small willy-willies (mini dust
tornados generated by heat on the ground) moving around.
