23-Oct-2009 -- It was cloudy and rain threatening when we set out from Chiangmai around 7.30 am on Ye Ni's motorbike. The traffic was light, it was King Chulalongkorn Day and schools and government offices were closed. We took the 1001 northwards. After about half an hour the GPS pointed straight East. The small roads leading first through residential areas and later through cultivated areas with orchards and eucalyptus became narrower. We parked the motorbike about 1.2 km from the confluence point and headed down the track to a road which brought us to a point a few hundred meters from the cp. The last bit, a couple of hundred meters, was through fallow fields one of bean plants, and shrubs and vegetation with thorns. We decided that 51 m was close enough in the latter type of surroundings. The sun came out and we gradually could feel the heat.- As so many have experienced we found, on our return to the motorbike, a road about a hundred meters to the north the cp. There was a little hamlet three hundred meters along the road. - For information: The GPS shows Central European Time, i.e. 9.08 am local time
