12-Nov-2009 -- We have just come back from a holiday in the Gambia and after an unsuccessful attempt to get 13N 15W, we decided to do this one instead. It is easier to get, being only 400 m from a tarmac road.
Our day started with a 06:30 set-off from Kombo Beach Hotel on the Atlantic coast Gambian resort of Kotu, where we took a taxi to Banjul, the first ferry over to Barra, a minibus to the border, and a 3-hour shared taxi drive to Kaolack.
When we arrived in Kaolack, we tried to explain to a taxi driver where we wanted to go, which wasn't easy with our small knowledge of French! However with a little help from a pastor, we managed to agree a price and made our way to the CP.
We pulled off the road at a little village called Mbos and started to walk accross the land. Although there were some children around, only the taxi driver followed us looking a bit bemused at what we were doing. It didn't take long to find the spot and take the all-important photos, there isn't much around, just a few remains of ground nut plants (peanuts). We were very pleased to get another CP in a different country and I think although our taxi driver was a little confused, he enjoyed a slightly different taxi ride!
