03-Jan-2010 --

03-Jan-2010 --

It was the second day of the trip after the stop in the Maracaibo city, to rest of the previous day voyage, with final destination city of Cartagena.

On the morning of Sunday 3/1/2010 we check-out early from the hotel, about 7:30 am, and we had scheduled a stop, the exact coordinate point 10°N 72°W. We stopped for breakfast and eat empanadas at Maracaibo Lake shore, in one of the many typical kiosks on Troncal 6. As time was limited, since the trip will require migration procedures at the Colombo-Venezuelan border, I decided previously follow the path that Alfredo Remón in his visit to 11°N 72°W, perfectly described. This made me save time and fast reach the place and very quickly finding the goal

The only obstacle in the short walk to the confluence point was that all our shoes got muddy, as the place was slightly damp, which forced us to cleaning of the shoes before return the car.

The Confluence point is located in a pasture at an elevation of - 5 masl, according to my Nuvi 850, and activity in the area is purely livestock.

At 10:00 am we continue our journey to the border line, and then after to sort the different checkpoints of the National Guard of Venezuela, Zulia State Police, immigration departments of Venezuela and Colombia, we finally reached our destination at 10:05pm hours Venezuelan time, safely thanks to God, with a very emotional family meeting!
