19-Feb-2010 -- After visiting 51N 113W we had to drive west through Calgary to stay with Andy and Debbie in Cochrane. We decided to call at this point - a night hunt with lots of traffic, no detailed map or instructions to help us.
The last time I headed to a city location with only the latitude and longitude and a GPS for guidance was in Omsk 5 years ago when we visited Yevgeny Figurov.
This approach was also guarded by rivers, flyovers and railway lines - a contrast to the hunts earlier in the day! After a few false starts and blind alleys we finally reached the point described in the three previous visits.
As the offices were all closed for the night there was no chance to climb on the roof - anyway that has been done! We settled for the nearest approach - about 22 metres from the point. After taking the photos a truck driver dropping off a trailer asked us what we were doing. He worked for one of the main suppliers of floor coverings. He was interested in the project and after a discussion of the floor covering industry he gave us excellent instructions about how to get to Cochrane. This is likely to remain my most westerly CP for a while at least.
