15-Feb-2010 -- This confluence is located just a couple miles from my home. For years I've told myself that I'm going to document it, but easy access made me procrastinate.
This winter we had a couple of snowfalls, which is moderately rare in the Memphis area. I thought it would be a good time to photograph this confluence to see something different. I made my plan and contacted my good friend Martin to see if he was free to join me. He was!
We set a time to meet near the confluence. I arrived a little early and parked down the street to wait. Shortly Martin arrived and we chatted as we walked down the street to the confluence. We both noted that the snow here was much less than we expected. Even though the temperature was around freezing, clearly most of the snow had already melted.
For me, this was by far my easiest confluence. We took a few photos and debated knocking on the door of the home in which the confluence is located. We decided not to. I walked up the driveway to the neighboring house and triangulated that the confluence is roughly inside the house or in the back yard. We spent only about two or three minutes in the street out front, and then we were done. A bit anti-climactic, actually.
Afterward we found a nearby geocache and then went for lunch near Martin's house in Collierville, east of Memphis.
