18-May-2011 -- A trip to my friend in Norway gave me the possibility to visit several confluence points. The third one of this journey was the CP 55°N 09°E, situated two kilometres west of the village Øster Højst, Denmark.
With a distance of about 25 kilometres beeline from the motorway, this CP is not so fast to reach. After leaving the motorway E45 I had to go quite a long time to direction northeast. By coming from the streets 443 and 435 I passed the village Bøgvad, followed the way “Mosevej” to the north, and reached a farm in the south of the CP. There, nearby a small bridge (Picture 08), I parked the car at this paved road and the GPS was showing still 800 meters to go to the CP. I did not want to disturb the farmer (Picture 10) so I chose to pass the farm east. The walk started along a creek with a fishing prohibited sign (Picture 09). Very high growing grass made the short hike not easy. After successfully bypassing the field, I had to cross a very thick hedge and a water ditch. But this one was quite wide and muddy on its sides. So I walked along until I found a thick branch to step on (Picture 11) and crossed the ditch. Now it were only another 200 meters to reach the CP. In a distance of 100 meters I took the picture of the location, with view to North (Picture 01). Nothing special was to be seen or found. So I took the needed pictures. The quality of the signal was very good while heaving a thin cloud cover. I went back the same way I came.
This confluence visit was my first visit of a confluence point in Denmark. It was not very easy to visit because of the bad accessibility. The next Confluence I wanted to reach was the CP 56°N 10°E.
