02-Aug-2011 -- At 16:00 on the 2nd of August we turned into the A713 from Castle Douglas to New Galloway, to follow the arrow on our GPS receiver in the direction of 55°N 4°W.
The rain that drove us away from the Hadrian’s Wall this morning disappeared and some sunny rays dipped the fresh green landscape into a warm and golden light. On the small road to Knockvennie Smithy we could park our car in the entrance of a narrow farm track, just 250 m away from the CP. We followed the track to the farm and could open a gate that leads to the sheep-run behind the house. Another 60 m over the grass and we achieved the zeroes in the display of our navigator.
That was the easiest confluence hunt I did so far - but nevertheless satisfying. Just 20 min after our arrival we could continue our journey west to have our B&B in the Bladnoch Inn near Wigtown.
