09-Jul-2013 -- Prior to attending an Internet engineering conference in Berlin, I'm taking a 3-week summer vacation driving through northern Germany, and Denmark. During this time, I plan to visit many of the confluence points in Germany, and all of the land confluence points in Denmark.
I began by visiting this easy confluence point, just south-east of the beautiful old town of Heidelberg. Turning off road L1110, a narrow, winding forest road took me within 100 meters of the point, and a dirt foot/bike path through the forest took me the rest of the way. En route to the point, I saw the now-famous "49 Nord - 9 Ost" sign.
The confluence point itself lies on a small ridge between two gullies. From reading the other visitors' reports, I suspect that these gullies were formed by the bulldozer work that took place here in 2008.
