22-Aug-2013 -- During this holiday trip through the south of Scandinavia we had several opportunities to visit confluence points. The visit to 53N 11E was the ninth in this row but not in Scandinavia anymore. It was the second of two CP-visits in Germany, already on the way home...
After visiting the beautiful town of Lüneburg we choose road no. 216 to reach the area of the CP 53N 11E. In the village of Metzingen, which is situated only 14 km away from the CP, we took the road K8 heading south and later K18 until a very small paved road lead us to the destination.
The GPS showed over a field into a forest. So I took a track along a field and parked the car only about 120 m away from the CP at the edge of the pine forest. Now I started my walk through the forest which was partly very scratchy and full of spider webs, caused by the brushwood. After a few minutes I reached the exact intersection 53N 11E and did the necessary pictures.
The GPS accuracy was shown with 4 to 5 meters. It was party cloudy, a lot of trees around and so the GPS signal was not very stable. But finally I had the picture with the many zeros on the display. It was very hot during my visit, shortly after high noon. On the mentioned field I saw many rolls of special blankets for asparagus (I hope I am right with this assumption).
So the last visit of a CP during this holidays was finished. Now our trip continued towards home.
