28-Mar-2014 -- We hadn't done a DCP for many years but were driving east on the Qaṣīm highway and knew the confluence point was near. There was an exit to a small settlement and the point was less than 6 km away. A rough paved road and then an easy drive across the flat plains. A very forgettable DCP.
It was an unpleasant stormy day with the wind howling at over 30 km/h and thunderstorms and heavy rain showers soon afterwards.
The person who has been there in June 2006 took a more difficult route directly off the highway using a bike. He also wondered why it hadn't been done before as an easy point. The answer was that when we were last up that way in Oct. 2005, we ran out of time but also got tired of being hassled, as we had been detained by a rather over-zealous amīr for a few hours when we did 26N 41E.
