04-Янв-2014 – Мы любим провести новогодние праздники в средней полосе на какой-нибудь базе отдыха. Подмосковье как-то неоправданно дорого, но у Володи с Юрой есть удивительное качество находить недорогие интересные варианты в близлежащих областях. Только делать это надо заранее, поэтому уже в конце сентября по наводке Володи мы забронировали номера на базе Полушкино, что рядом с г. Спас-Клепики. Сосновый бор, прекрасный каток, горки для катания на ледянках, детская дискотека, фейерверки, рыбалка … что ещё надо, чтобы провести праздники? Однако, как выяснилось, вовсе не этими параметрами руководствовался Володя, при выборе места отдыха, а близостью к двум точкам, на которые он давно прицеливался. И пусть они были уже когда-то посещены, нас это нисколько не остановило.

Надо заметить, что в средней полосе России в течение полугода с октября 2013 по апрель 2014 стоит погода «около 0», за исключением пары недель в конце января до –20°C и пары дней в марте до +17°C. К началу января в лесу практически не было снега, так что катание с детьми на лыжах были под вопросом, и тут Володя сказал, «а пошли все вместе», то есть не только взрослые, но и пятилетние двойняшки Максима Маша и Ира.

И вот с утра пораньше часам к 11, позавтракав, собрав и погрузив детей, мы выехали по Р123 в сторону Рязани. Ехать было недалеко, менее 20 км. Не доезжая д. Малиновка, налево уходит лесная дорога, у начала которой мы оставили машины и выступили на покорение N55°E40°. Пройдя край деревни, мы решили пойти на точку напрямую по лесу, поскольку предстояло идти по подмерзшей земле с отдельными островками снега – идеальная поверхность для легкой прогулки. Однако коварство «около 0» заключается в том, что лед на лужах оказался очень тонким и подобравшись к первому мокрому месту, мы решили вернуться на дорогу. 3 км по дороге со сбором веток, шишек и ягод можжевельника пролетели незаметно. Мы пересекли ЛЭП и дошли до поворота. Здесь мы развели костер и оставили женщин с детьми отдохнуть и погреться, а сами свернули направо и по прямой дороге (просека местного газопровода) прошли ещё около 1 км. Нам осталось буквально 200 м на запад, но тут началось самое сложное, о чём, впрочем предупреждал еще Дима Волгин.

Рядом с дорогой шла глубокая канава, покрытая ненадёжным ледком. Пришлось отступить назад метров на 200 и найти место, в котором лёд выдержал всех нас с запасом. Чем ближе к точке, тем мокрее становилась почва и приходилось прыгать с кочки на кочку. Повсюду нас окружали большие лужи воды, кое-где покрытые льдом. Для проверки льда Володя взял толстую большую палку и постоянно простукивал лёд на нашем пути. Продвижение шло медленно. При этом, напрямую пройти не удалось (было слишком много воды) и пришлось сделать большой круг и зайти к точки с северо-северо-запада. В результате 200 метров превратились в более чем километровый путь. Сама точка расположена на небольшом возвышении, что позволило поймать нули. Вокруг смешанный, преимущественно берёзовый лес с вкраплением хвойных деревьев. То, что точка расположенная в болотистом Мещерском крае, труднодоступна летом, мы понимали, тем более из рассказа предыдущего посетителя. Однако нулевая температура создала неожиданные трудности и в январе.

Женщины и дети нас не дождались и потихоньку двинулись к машинам, а мы, посушив немного ноги у костра, пошли их догонять.

04-Jan-2014 – We like to spend New Year's holidays in the central part of European Russia on some recreation center. The nearest Moscow region looked overpriced, but Volodya and Yura has an amazing quality to find cheap interesting options in the surrounding areas. You need only very early booking, so in late September we booked the rooms (as Vladimir advised) in Polushkino resort near Spas-Klepiki town (Ryazan region). Pine forest, beautiful ice rink, toboggan, children's disco, fireworks, fishing ... that's enough to spend the holidays! However, as it turned out, these parameters are not that Volodya was guided by, when he choose where to stay, he bore in mind the proximity to the two confluence points where he targeted at. Despite these CP have already been visited, we targeted there too.

It should be noted that in the middle of Russia there was weather “about 0°C” during six months from October 2013 till April 2014, except for a couple of weeks at the end of January (down to –20°C) and a couple of days in March (up to +17°C). By the beginning of January there was very thin snow cover in forests, so skiing with kids looked questionable, and then Volodya said, “let's go to the confluence all together”, that means not only adults, but also the five-years-old Maxim's twin daughters Masha and Irina.

So in the morning, after breakfast, by 11 am we packed all things, handed children into the car, and set off onto R123 road towards Ryazan. It was short drive, less than 20 km. Before entering Malinovka village the was a dirt forest road to the the left side. We left our cars at the junction and started our conquest of 55°N 40°E. Having entered the forest we decided to go directly to the CP, so the ground looked frozen and solid enough for an easy walk. However, the guile of "about 0°C" weather is that the ice on the puddles was very thin. As soon as we reached to the first wet place, we decided to go back onto the road. During our walk onto the road we (with kids) picked up some nice twigs, cones and juniper berries so 3 km way flashed by. We crossed the power line and reached the turn. Here we made a fire and left the women and children to relax and get warm. Man's crew turned to the right and went onto straight road (technical road along local gas pipeline). We walked for about 1 km. It remained just 200 m to the west, but here the most difficult part has began, it was warned by Dima Volgin though.

Along the road there was a deep ditch covered with fragile ice. We had to fall back on 200 meters and find a place where the ice could sustain our weight for sure. The closer to the confluence point, the soil became wetter and we had to jump from tussock to tussock. Everywhere we were surrounded by large pools of water in some places covered with ice. To check the thick ice Volodya took a big stick and constantly tapped the ice on our way. Our speed was quite slow. At the same time, we couldn't pass straightforward so there was too much water and we had to make a big circle-shape detour and come to the target from the NNW. As a result, 200 meters turned into more than kilometer route. The confluence spot is located on a small rising ground, that allowed us to catch all zeros. Around us there is mixed, mainly birch forest interspersed with conifers. We understood that the confluence point is located in a swampy Meshchera region and it is hard-to-reach in summer, as previous visitor reported. However, zero temperature has created unexpected difficulties in January.

Women and children have not waited till we came and leisurely walked back to the cars, while we dried a little our feet near the fire, and rushed to catch them up.
