19-Mar-2016 -- Salimos de nuestra casa en Resende (en el sudoeste del estado de Rio de Janeiro) a las 04:00 hacia la región serrana que se encuentra en el noreste del mismo estado. Luego de realizar un par de paradas, y de tomar algunos desvíos entre las sierras por calles de tierra rodeadas de una gran belleza natural, llegamos al municipio de Santa María Madalena (distante 350 km de Resende) aproximadamente a las 10:00.

Existe un camino pavimentado (ruta RJ-182) que pasa no muy lejos de la confluencia y que une Santa María Madalena con Trajano de Moraes, un municipio cercano. Sin embargo analizando los mapas disponibles en Internet se veía que otro camino de tierra, que sigue un curso mas o menos paralelo al camino pavimentado (decir paralelo en estas latitudes de montaña es una irrealidad...) y que nos dejaba a apenas 400 metros del punto de la confluencia. Siguiendo este camino de tierra, en no tan buen estado, y luego de varios kilómetros llegamos al punto al que mediante un zigzagueo de tramos extenso se desciende una colina, y a mitad de este zig zag detuvimos el auto frente a una de las tranqueras que se encuentran en ese punto.

Atravesando la primera de las tranqueras seguí a pie hasta encontrarme con un alambrado el cual no me animé a cruzar ya que del otro lado me esperaba un tono realizando unos sonidos algo aterradores para una persona de ciudad como yo, por lo que volví hasta la calle e intenté mejor suerte por la segunda tranquera.

Esta vez la suerte me acompañó. De los 400 metros que me separaban de la confluencia se puede decir que difíciles solo eran los 20 primeros y los 20 últimos. Los primeros porque se trata de una zona mas baja y con arbustos espinosos muy altos y difíciles de atravesar (yo no quise escuchar las recomendaciones de los visitantes anteriores, de no ir con bermudas, en ese punto me arrepentí y mucho), luego de atravesar este trecho se debe subir y bajar una colina, lo cual es muy fácil porque incluso existe un alambrado que nos va guiando derecho hacia el punto de la confluencia.

Siguiendo este camino en un punto comenzamos a bordear un bosque, dentro del cual se ubica la confluencia, la cual fue imposible alcanzar debido a que (tal vez por las fuertes lluvias de los últimos tiempos) el bosque estaba prácticamente impenetrable. Nos conformamos con registrar el punto a unos metros del cero en el GPS.

La vuelta fue muy fácil, salvo nuevamente esos últimos 20 metros, que incluso fueron mas difíciles que de ida.

19-Mar-2016 -- We left our house in Resende (in the southwest of the State of Rio de Janeiro) at 04:00 for the mountainous region which is located in the northeast of the State. After a couple of stops, and take some deviations between the streets of Earth surrounded by great natural beauty, arrived at the municipality of Santa Maria Madalena (350 km distant from Resende) approximately at 10:00.

There is a road paved (route RJ-182) that passes not very far from the confluence and that joins Santa Maria Madalena with Trajan of Moraes, a municipality close. However looking at the maps available on the Internet was that another path, which follows a more or less parallel to the paved road (parallel in these latitudes of mountain is an unreality...) and that let us just 400 meters from the confluence point. Following this path of Earth, not so good, and after several kilometers we reach the point that through an extensive sections zigzagging down a hill, and in the middle of this zig zag stopped the car in front of one of the gates that are at that point.

Through the first of the gates I followed on foot to find me with a wiring which I dared not to cross since on the other side expect me a tone making some rather frightening sounds for a city person, as I, so it went back up to the street and tried to better by the second gate.

This time the luck was with me. The 400 meters that separated me from the confluence, we can say that difficult were only the first 20 and the last 20. The first because it is an area lower and with very high and difficult to pass through thorny bushes (I didn't want to listen to the recommendations of previous visitors, not to go with Bermuda, at that point I repented and much), then cross this stretch should go up and down a hill, which is very easy because there is even a wiring that will guide us toward the confluence point right.

Following this road in a point started to skirt a forest, within which is located the confluence, which was impossible reach since (perhaps by the strong rains of them last times) the forest was virtually impenetrable. We are satisfied with record point meters from the zero in the GPS.

The return was easy, except again those last 20 meters, which were even more difficult that before.
