08-May-2018 -- During a short trip in Spain we had to drive from Madrid to Salamanca with a rented car. We choose the southern itinerary running west from Toledo to Plasencia that follows very closely the north 40th latitude line. This allowed us to visit 40N 4W, 40N 5W and 40N 6W in the same day.
40N 6W is located in a fenced field 70 meter west of the CCV-18 road and is therefore very easy to reach. To avoid tearing my clothes climbing over the fence, I walked almost to the roundabout some 400 meters NE of the place where we parked our car and climbed over a field gate. The field is obviouly a pasture for livestock and I had some concerns about meeting a bull as many farmers breed them in the area (picture 6 was taken in Barco de Avila 3 hours later). Luckily there were no animals in the field and I could zero the point in a few minutes.
After that visit, we spent some time in the afternoon in Plasencia which is worth a visit by itself for the many architectural wonders and medieval buildings of the city center.
