24-Jun-2020 -- This report is the third out of eight reports reaching confluence points during a 5-day bicycle trip (901 km) from Tallinn to Riga. The story starts at 59°N 26°E and continues from 59°N 27°E.
After spending the night at Lake Peipus camping at the lake shore, I started cycling at 5 AM towards this confluence point.
In the early afternoon I had reached the confluence. I parked my bicycle a distance of 250 m and walked along an overgrown loggers track towards the confluence. After scrambling over huge drainage ditches, I found the confluence point located at the intersection of two such overgrown loggers tracks (or fire protection lanes).
However, the speciality of this confluence was (at least for me) something else: The horse flies were so nasty that I was hardly able to take the cardinal directions. Each picture I had to pay with one bite as I was wearing shorts and a t-skirt. I even had no time to look around – so I detected the confluence marker only after the visit in the confluence picture when writing the report. If you look at the picture of myself, you may laugh as you can see around 10 of those flies around my face.
After the confluence visit I came across the town Otepää.
