15-May-2022 Wir besuchen Berat und Gjirokaster, zwei sehenswerte Orte.

Auf dem Weg zur Küste biegen wir auf die große Straße ab. Diese wird irgendwann durch einen Tunnel eine Verbindung nach Tirana werden. Am derzeitigen Ende der Straße gibt es einen Kreisverkehr, den man über eine unwirkliche Ausfahrt verlassen kann, die aktuelle Straße nach Vergo, dem Ort in dem der CP liegt.

Nach Gefühl und GPS fahren wir durch die kleinen Dorfstraßen bis zur Kreuzung mit dem Grundstück auf dem sich der CP befindet. Das Tor zum Grundstück ist verschlossen.

Ein vorbeikommender Mann macht uns mit Händen und Füßen klar, dass der Besitzer vor kurzem bei einem Autounfall gestorben ist und seine Frau unterwegs ist.

Er fragt was wir hier suchen. Er denkt wir haben uns verfahren.

Wir erklären es ihm mit Hilfe seines etwas englisch sprechenden Sohnes an seinem Telefon und er lädt uns zu einem Kaffee in sein Haus ein.

Der CP liegt, nach unserem GPS, etwa 15 Meter auf dem Grundstück.

Der Mann sagt, dass wir unbedingt Sarande und seinen Sohn dort besuchen sollen. Wir nehmen einen Umweg über die kleine Fähre an der Straße SH81, die südlich davon von der Grenze zu Griechenland kommend, an den Butrint Nationalpark führt.

We visit Berat and Gjirokaster, two places worth seeing.

On the way to the coast we turn onto the big road. This will eventually become a connection to Tirana through a tunnel. At the current end of the road there is a roundabout which can be left via an surreal exit, the current road to Vergo, the place where the CP is located.

By feel and GPS we drive through the small village streets to the crossroads with the property on which the CP is located. The gate to the property is locked.

A man passing by makes it clear to us with hands and feet that the owner has recently died in a car accident and his wife is not at home.

He asks what we are looking for here. He thinks we have lost our way.

We explain it to him with the help of his somewhat English speaking son on his phone and he invites us to a coffee at his house.

The CP is, according to our GPS, about 15 metres on the property.

The man says that we should definitely visit Sarande and his son there.

We take a detour via the small ferry on the road SH81, which leads south of it from the border with Greece, to the Butrint National Park.
