04-Feb-2024 -- Rosie and I were on the road from the Otway Ranges to Melbourne Airport. Noticing a nearby CP on the map, I sought permission for a "little detour" - I resolutely promised it wouldn't risk Rosie missing her flight. It was a hot day 35C+ so neither of us were in the mood for unexpected surprises. Fortunately, the CP was close to a driveable back road. It was a very quiet road and we found just enough grass verge to pull off safely, about 200m north of the closest point on the road to the CP. It was brown-snakey weather so Rosie stayed behind in the car. Turned out to be a quick-n-easy bag. Rather featureless, dry farmland. No cattle to worry about. And an easy barbed wire fence to climb over. Mission accomplished. And a little surprise for Rosie on the way back .... see pics!
