09-Aug-2025 -- From [37,-2], I returned to the motorway, heading northeast. At Lorca (with it’s impressive-looking hilltop castle), I turned North, and then took narrow rural roads to the West. These roads were paved at first, and then gravel. The final gravel road eventually turned clockwise, and I ended up approaching the point from the West. The road passes just 100m North of the point, which lies in a stonefruit orchard. (Previous visitors have identified the fruit as almonds, which are, indeed, stonefruit.)
I was surprised to learn that this point had not been visited in 14 years, as it’s quite easy to visit, and ‘remote’ only by western European standards. Since the previous visit, much of the land near the almond orchards has turned into covered grapevines. One of these is just to the ENE of the point.
The contrast between almond orchards and covered grapevines makes the drone’s eye view of this point quite interesting.
