Tulee Ruotsista Haaparannan ja Tornion kautta jatkan hieman pidemmälle E8-tietä pitkin ja sitten E75-tietä pitkin kohti Rovaniemeä. Lyhyen kahvitauon jälkeen jatkan Sodankylän Vuojärvelle. Täältä käännyn oikealle ja jatkan noin 14 km tietä 6913 pitkin, kunnes saavun vasemmalle risteykseen kohdassa N 67°00 - E 026°47. Täältä asetan auton navigoinnin määränpäähän ja ajan nyt hitaasti tätä soratietä pitkin tien käännöspisteen loppuun. Tämä on nyt myös lähtöpisteeni risteykseen kohdassa N 66° 59 3688 – E 026° 58 3450.

Täältä matkaa määränpäähän on noin 1,4 km, ja puolivälissä on pieni Siurunjoen ylitys. Matti Rahkala ja Jyrki Huhtansika olivat päässeet tähän pisteeseen jo 23 vuotta ja 1 kuukausi sitten. Ensin vierailtu, sitten pohjoisesta. Reitti lähdöstä maaliin on sama sekä pohjoisesta että etelästä. Levitettyäni hyttyskarkotetta uudelleen perusteellisesti ja tällä kertaa neopreenihousut ja -kengät jalassa, kävelen ensin noin 200 metriä moottorikelkkareittiä pitkin ja sen jälkeen noin 300 metriä avoimen suon poikki. Vielä 200 metrin jälkeen metsän läpi saavun pienelle Siurunjoelle, joka on täällä noin 2 metriä leveä. Ylitän joen, joka on täällä noin 80 cm syvä, ja jatkan Siurunjoen toisella puolella samaa vaihtelevaa suo- ja metsämaastoa pitkin risteyskohtaan, jonne saavun vielä 600 metrin jälkeen kello 19.10.

Tämä piste sijaitsee 212 metrin korkeudessa suhteellisen avoimella metsäalueella Pyhätunturin kansallispuistossa. Tarkka risteyskohta Paikantaminen Garmin Montana 700 -laitteellani on vaikeaa. Se kesti noin viisi minuuttia kasvavissa hyttysparvissa, koska näytössä on nyt neljä numeroa asteiden ja minuuttien jälkeen. Tämä johtaa noin 37 cm:n poikkeamaan, mikä on enemmän kuin riittävä. Coming from Sweden Via Haparanda – Tornio, I continue a bit further on the E8, and then onto the E75 towards Rovaniemi. After a short coffee stop, I continue to Sodankylä Vuojärvi. From here, I turn right and continue for about 14 km on road 6913 until I reach the left turn at N 67°00 - E 026°47 . From here I set my car navigation to the destination point and now drive slowly along this gravel road to the end of the road turning point. This is now also my starting point for the intersection at N 66° 59 3688 – E 026° 58 3450. From here it is about 1.4 km to the destination, with a halfway small river crossing of the Siurunjoki.

Matti Rahkala and Jyrki Huhtansika had already reached this point 23 years 1 month ago First visited, then from the north. The route from the start to the finish is the same from either north or south. After thoroughly applying mosquito repellent again, and this time wearing neoprene pants and shoes, I first walk about 200 meters along a snowmobile trail, followed by about 300 meters across an open marsh. After another 200 meters through the forest, I reach the small Siurunjoki River, which is about 2 meters wide here.

I cross the river, which is about 80 cm deep here, and continue on the other side of the Siurunjoki through the same alternating terrain of marsh and forest sections to the intersection point, which I reach after another 600 meters at 7:10 p.m. This point is located at an elevation of 212 meters in a relatively open forest area in Pyhatunturi National Park. The exact intersection point It's difficult to locate with my Garmin Montana 700, which took about five minutes in the growing swarms of mosquitoes, as the display now has four digits after the degrees and minutes. This results in a deviation of about 37 cm, which is more than sufficient. After almost an hour of returning, I'm back at the starting point and continue toward Pelo.

Von Schweden aus kommend über Haparanda – Tornio fahre ich noch ein Stück auf der E 8 weiter, und dann auf die E 75 in Richtung Rovaniemi. Nach kurzem Kaffeestop geht es weiter bis nach Sodankylä Vuojärvi. Ab hier fahre ich rechts ab, noch rund 14 km weiter auf der Straße 6913 bis zum Abzweig nach links bei N 67°00 - E 026°47 . Ab hier stelle ich meine Autonavigation auf den Zielpunkt ein, und fahre nun diesen Schotterweg langsam bis zum Straßenende Wendepunkt weiter, Dies ist nun auch mein Startpunkt zum Schnittpunkt bei N 66° 59 3688 – E 026° 58 3450.

Von hier sind es noch rund 1,4 km zum Ziel, mit einer bei der Hälfte der Strecke kleinen Fluss Durchquerung des Siurunjoki. Matti Rahkala und Jyrki Huhtansika hatten diesen Schnittpunkt bereits vor 23 Jahren 1 Monat Erst besucht, damals von Norden her. Die Wegstrecke vom Start zum Zielpunkt ist von Norden oder Süden her die Selbe. Nach dem wieder gründlichem Auftragen des Mückenschutzes und dieses mal hier auch mit Neopren Hose und Schuhen, geht es zunächst ca. 200 Meter entlang eines Schneemobil Trails, und Anschließend rund 300 Meter über eine offene Sumpffläche. Nach weiteren rund 200 Metern durch Wald erreiche ich den kleinen Fluss Siurunjoki der hier ca. 2 Meter breit ist.

Ich Durchquere den hier ca. 80 cm tiefen Fluß und gehe auf der andern Seite des Siurunjoki wieder durch das abwechselnd selbe Gelände mit Sumpf und Waldabschnitten zum Schnittpunkt, den ich nach weiteren rund 600 Metern um 19,10 Uhr erreiche. Dieser befindet sich auf 212 Metern Höhe in einem relativ offenem Waldgelände im Nationalpark Pyhatunturi. Der exakte Schnittpunkt ist mit meinem nun Garmin Montana 700 schwierig zu lokalisieren, was in den zunehmenden Mückenschwärmen rund 5 Minuten gedauert hat, da die Anzeige nach der Grad und Minutenangabe nun 4 stellig ist. Was hier eine Abweichung laut Anzeige von rund 37 cm ergibt, was mehr als ausreichend ist. Nach knapp 1 Stunde Rückweg bin ich wieder am Ausgangspunkt und fahre weiter in Richtung Pelo.
