02-Sep-2026 -- After being on Mount Ararat for four days (unsuccessful attempt for the top because of bad weather), we visited three confluence points in the east of Turkey which had not been visited before: 39N 44E, 39N 43E and 39N 42E. During this confluence point trip we drove around lake Van.

Continued from 39N 43E. After breakfast at Grand Suphan hotel in Patnos, we left at 9:00 a.m. The roads to 39N 42E are (also) very good. We had to pass two military checkpoints.

During the confluence point visit, we did not meet anyone because the CP is located in an open field quite far away from the village Erentepe, but we did see a lorry passing us on our way back to the car.
