12-Jun-2001 -- We started our trip to this point from Oulanka National Park. By car we came up very close, but at the end of the road the point seemed to lie within an area of dense mountain birch wood, 1.2 km away.

While thinking about fighting my way through, I got at least 20 mosquito bites within 2 minutes, and lost all my motivation of reaching the point. Perhaps someone else has more luck (or is more resistant against mosquito attacks)
