24-Jul-2001 -- Back on a business trip to Taranto I was eager to hunt for another confluence in this area. My colleague Roman had to pick up his wife from the airport in Napoli and I used this change to join him and to initiate a bypass to the spot.
We left the A16 at Grottaminarda and headed SSW, passed Fontanarosa and just on the outskirts of Sant'Angelo all'Esca on a small tarmac road we nearly matched the confluence by car (pic#3). After we found a suitable place to park our car we crossed various small fields (pic#4). Surprisingly the dawn hit us early in this part of Southern Europe since we are used to Central Europe daylight periods.
Even hampered by twilight we could easily determine the confluence within small garden type fields and trees. The use of flashlight was necessary to take a picture from the GPS (pic#5). For a photo from confluence itself we also had to use the flash since it is surrounded by trees.
During our visit we did not see any human being. From the nearby house (pic#3) we could hear a dog barking. Out of the trees the perspective to Sant'Angelo all'Esca (pic#6), Fontanarosa and Gesualdo (pic#7) was still fair.
Another visit to this part of the world during daytime is planned. We like to encourage fellow hunters to get better results out of this confluence.
