Spanish version

04-Aug-2001 -- On August the fourth, we decided to put on the map (just kidding) the confluence point at 41°N 5°W. Two different groups were involved in the adventure, One departing from Valladolid, with David Artuñeado being its only member, and other heading there from Madrid (Rafael Avila, Pedro González and Angel Hermosilla). The meeting point was Arevalo, a nearby village. From There we drove together until Mamblas, a hamlet only 2.5 kilometres away from the sought point. According to the map, a river would bar the direct approach route, and we discussed if we had better take a longer route until reaching a ford, but fortunately, after having decided on the shorter trail, we discover (to our joy) that the river carried no water (summer drought is strong in Spain, sometimes I think we live in North Africa) and we could wade without getting soaked. Too easy a walk for our expectations! The spot is typical of the castilian plateau, no irrigation fields (quite an unsound measure that would be, if you take into account the summer sun), a limitless sad flat where only wheat and barley can be raised, but because of the season the crop have been already harvested. After taking the photos to certify our exploit, we left for Arevalo. After the promenade in the sun, we were ravenous and the local speciality is roasted piglet, so you can guess we relished our meal indeed. (Thanks to David Florez for this "personal" translation).
