25-Aug-2001 -- After finding out about The Degree Confluence Project we checked to see if there was an unreported Confluence near us and Bingo 54N 1W remained unvisited.

We set off bright and early, as the point was in the middle of a collection of farmers fields, so we had to ascertain which farmer owned which field. First we attempted to reach it via a public footpath which went through the middle of a golf course, unfortunately this left us about 100 Metres to its West. We went back to the main road and into a farm, where a very helpful farmer took us to the boundary of his land, but again we were about 100 Metres to its North. He told us who the adjoining fields belonged to and we set off again.

Once again a very inquisitive farmer accompanied us to an adjacent field, where we then walked through stubble from freshly harvested Wheat to the exact point.
