08-Sep-2001 -- I arrived in Buffalo, NY today, a Saturday, for meetings beginning on Monday. I planned to tour and visit confluences today and tomorrow. Little did I know how my plans would be changed by the events of the next Tuesday, September 11, 2001.
I drove West from Buffalo and crossed the Peace Bridge into Canada. The border crossing was quick and easy. As I continued West I began to worry about the availability of sufficient daylight to find the point. I made one false start into a heavily wooded area, but then found access through a harvested field.
The crop must have been some type of grass or alfalfa for animal feed. It had been placed into large rolls which were waiting on the ground for pickup and transfer to a storage location. I surprised a couple of gaggles of geese while traversing the field.
I had to use the flash to take the GPS photo because the daylight had almost completely failed. I enjoyed a nice ride to the North and then to the East where I visited Niagara Falls at night. A great trip!
