09-Sep-2001 -- I enjoyed a day of touring and confluence visiting on my free day before meetings in Buffalo, NY. I had read Bob Spafford's account of this DCP and of some of the historical places in the area.
I'm sure I went to the same spot he did because I found the same street, the same parking area and the same fallen tree. The temperature was warm and the air humid. It felt like I was sweating buckets.
I built a small rock cairn to mark the spot and the occasion. I didn't find the "No Tresspassing" sign until I returned to the car. I suppose the land is owned by the Cavalry Club. I saw no one and no cars at the Club's facilities.
Later in the day I visited the Grandin Building in Palmyra, NY and the LDS Church's Visitors Center a few miles south of town.
It was a great day!
