16-Jun-2001 -- While I was home to my mother on vacation I decided to 'pick' two confluences in a day. I started out with 63°N 9°E and followed up with 63°N 10°E.
The drive from 63°N 9°E to this is very straightforward in the beginning. But from a place called Å in the Meldal (Orkdal) valley, the path is not so obvious, at least from the driver's seat. Dense forest and narrow roads makes it easy to take the wrong turn. Since these roads are private property there is a fee to be paid to use them with motorized vehicles.
At the end of this particular road there was a large parking lot to serve the numerous cabins in the area of the confluence. I put on my trusty hiking boots and left my car to hike the few kilometers to the confluence. The going was very wet and boggy. At one time I had to take of my boots to wade across a river. After running around a little I found the confluence among some trees close to an open field.
Going back I got up on a nearby hill and got a picture of the confluence and the surrounding area. Then I looped back to may car and drove home, content with a good day's work.
