On March 8th, 2002, after we had travel all night from Cipolletti (Rio Negro) in direction to the Federal Capital, Buenos Aires, and based on several confluences that we have marked in the Moving Map (Ozi Explorer) and because we really did not have too much time, we decided that this was the one closer to ours possibilities. So, we decided that the time to conquer it has arrived.

In this opportunity the group was formed by: Luis Briones, Alejandro Alvarez and I. We made the trip in the unbreakable Toyota and towing a "little" trailer of 860 Kilograms, this, would not make it easier for us to find the way in case we ran into impassable zone or mud areas; mud is very common in the fertile fields of the humid Pampas. The day was not a promising one and rain threatened to begin at any time, the frequent morning mist was becoming present, making dangerous to drive in it.

In any case we evaluated the distances and we decided to go for the confluence. When the arrow of the GPS indicate that we were perpendicular to the point we could not find a route immediately but some kilometers more one crossroad seemed to be appropriate, luckily in quite good conditions although with some mud and holes that we could avoid with ease. As we advanced we realized that perhaps we had to walk a little since all the fields where cultivated and with fences.

To our surprise when the arrow indicated another right angle we was again in front to a direct road to the point. This one was a little deteriorated and with deep vehicle tracks marked in the soil, as a measure of precaution we engaged the double traction and continued. Soon after we started in this road, and as it was getting worse, we decided to leave the trailer to a side and pick it on our way back. The road took us direct to the point but between mist and drizzle.

We almost reached the end of the road; at that point the GPS indicated that to our left, in the field, the confluence waited for us. It began to drizzle, we decided to jump the fencing, when climbing the fence we saw, between the mist, and not too far away, a swamp! We verified the position immediately and began to pray that the point would not be in this swamp since none of us liked the thought of swimming.

After carefully walking in the soybean field we conquered, for the group, a new confluence! Some minutes trying to get all zeroes on the GPS and … FLASH! A moment immortalized, with our Olympus digital camera, by the photographer of the group, Alejandro, we did not place any sign or monolith since this site is a cultivated field.

Our total journey to the confluence was 972 kilometers of arduous nocturnal trip, some data below, … go go go! It is raining again!
