14-Apr-2002 -- Easy to approach – difficult to access.
In the area of the CP the national highway SS1 runs in about 1 km distance parallel to the beach of the Tyrrhenian Sea (Picture 2 - upper part). A secondary road running parallel serves as the entry to an armed forces base. Between this street and the SS1 you’ll find a dog breeding farm (Picture 2 - lower part) with a tremendous race variety. A short stop in this place aroused an infernal noise.
The point itself lies in a rape field about 400 m to the southwest of this road. The confluence area is protected by a high fence and the entrance gate on the south eastern end of the field is locked. We could, however, discover a gap in the fence probably coming from recent wood works. A single, huge tree (42.0012°N 12.0008°E) serves as a reference.
The CP is about 150 m behind this tree and 700 m from the sea. This is a flat alluvial land with a wonderful view to the hilly hinterland. On the way back along a tree hedge I discovered over a wood bridge an access path from the nearby farm.
