(visited by Barry Staley and Glenn Keller)
07-Jun-2002 -- I was visiting friends in Philadelphia and noticed that this confluence had not been visited. So I arranged with a local 55 ft fishing charter boat to take us to the spot on the Delaware Bay and photography the spot. We were to meet at 4:00 on the 7th as this was the only day we could go, so weather could be a factor. It turned out to be a big storm on the 6th
and on the 7th the sky was gray and the seas were 3 to 5 feet so keeping the boat in one position for a photo was quite a job. On the way out the waves splashed about half the length of the boat so we were lucky to have some space on the inside cabin. We crossed the spot three times as seen on the GPS but the camera could not capture the zeros because of the waves but got to 000.000 on 35 and 000.003 on 75 in the photos. Captain Bill was great and we were amazed at how he could manover the boat around the confluence. |
