04-Sep-1999 -- Saturday, Labor Day weekend in Atlanta.
Everybody is out of town, and it's a beautiful day. I'm off to
33N 85W. A short drive down I-85 towards the Alabama border. Exit
the highway, turn left on a small road, typical Georgia interstate
neighborhood: a gas station, a country flea market. Then turn left
onto a small country road. Fields on both side, green everywhere
and a few trees. It's definitely a countryside confluence! The trouble is,
it's inhabited! By cows! A large herd of black cows. And a fence all
around with signs promising fines and even worse punishments for
trespassers... And the confluence is right there, in the middle of this
field. The cow in the middle of the first picture is standing exactly
at the confluence. The third shows the small country road that borders
the field. The first picture is looking west and the second one is
looking north.
