#1: the dirt road leading directly onto the confluence

(visited by Captain Peter and Werner Furlan)

20-Oct-2003 -- From Cruz Alta (Province of Cordoba), where we had spent the night we continued on route nr. 6 towards Rosario. West of this city we took the new highway nr. 9 in direction Santa Fé. The point was supposed to be about 1,4 km West of the highway. Stopping on a highway, however, is not permitted except for emergencies, and so we stopped only for a few minutes to have a look. Our position was in fact about 1,4 km East of the confluence. Parallel to the highway there is a dirt road, which bends exactly towards West, thus in direction to the confluence.

That was very inviting, but we did not dare to leave the car on the emergency strip unattended for about one hour.

So our problem was: how to get the car from the highway just on this dirt road? Our map, even the military one, was not detailed enough to learn that.

So we left the highway at the next exit (La Coronda) and started to search. We found a lot of dirt roads, but either not suitable for our car (FIAT Bravo), or not leading in the desired direction at all.

Finally we gave up, accepting this visit as an attempt only.

Werner found a heron and a lot of nice flowers (picture 8, picture 9, and picture 10) along our path, again.

Quite disappointed, we left the area and continued to our next confluence.
