29-Mar-2003 -- While on a trip to Iceland we tried to visit this point. The previous visitor stated that he had walked 4.5 km to get to it, which probable means that he started somewhere near the main road between Reykjavík and the Keflavík airport. We located a nice scenic route that passed within 2.7 km of the confluence and decided to try this instead.
We got as close as possible, but with the small amount of fresh snow that covered the extremely broken lava fields, hiding but not actually covering lose rocks, holes and other traps, it would have been quite dangerous to try to walk to the point.
We therefore decided that the trip to 64N 21W the day before was enough for our first trip to Iceland.
Instead we continued along the dirt road, and passed some very nice areas, including Heifarvatn, the largest lake in this part of Iceland.
