25-Jul-2002 -- My wife and I like to visit confluences for what the search provides to us: knowing new places, new people and the pleasure to be with the nature.

In this confluence in special we had a very pleasant experience. We had planned a trip to the south of Brazil and in the way we decide to try the confluence 28S 50W, that is approximately 300 km of my city (Joinville).

To approach the confluence, we entered 50km before Lages in a secondary road, passing Rufino River. After 4km we perceive that the highway was moving away from the confluence. We entered in smaller roads, farms access, and arrived to Mr. Jairo’s property. His hospitality was rewarding.

THen we planed a way to arrive to the confluencia, we decide to left the approach to the next day in the morning. Before going to look for a hotel, Mr. Jairo’s family served a delicious coffee.

The following day, early, we got the confluence with certain easiness, walking in fields and hills typical of this region. The only difficulty was crossing a small river with very cold water. The confluence was in the midle of a swamp, beside a small hill.

In the way back from the walk, Mr. Jairo’s family invited us for lunch. We thank very much their hospitality
