10-Jul-2004 -- On the way home to Sweden after a tour along the coast of Norway I took the Tuv-Misvaer-Börånes road across the mountains. At Vesterli, the distance to 67Nx15E was only 5 km, so I went for an overnight stay at a parking place for visitors to Saltfjell national park. The parking place is located a couple of km further east and about 2 km to the south on a small gravel road that runs along a small river. I asked for permission to put up the tent at the nearby farmhouse. There were Polish people living there, and they didn't know much English or Russian, but by gestures I showed them that I wanted to put up the tent and that seemed okay.
The next morning it was beautiful weater, very suitable for going up to the confluence point. The best starting point would be where a footpath starts to Tverrbrennstua. just southwest of the Beiarn - Skjerstad border on the road to Beiarn, see the map. I started some 600 m northeast of the trail. The terrain was a bit hilly, but it was no problem to reach the confluence from there. It was 3.2 km from the starting point, and along the trail it would have been only a little longer. The confluence is a little north of the first e in Tverrbrennstua on the map.
The terrain type is open mountain heath with a few willow bushes. Elevation is 642 m according to the GPS.
