11-Aug-2004 -- Drove to Jörn in a cloudberry picking tour together with my co-confluence hunter Lennart Wikman. The cloudberries were extremely scarce this year and we ended up with about 200 of them after having walked around for a couple of hours. We also visited my first confluence near Svarttjärnliden. Lennart gave me the information about the Confluence Project in December, 2001, but he didin't visit any confluence before our tour in the SW of USA earlier this year.
The weather was nice, so we got some fair pictures in the four directions. But the GPS'es were a bit unstable when we tried to take the 00.000 minute picture, so we performed a long confluence dance before we got it. It is a bit tougher to get exact readings in the forest, but nevertheless, the EPE reading on the more accurate GPS said 4 meters when it was as lowest, and most of our dance was done around the little wooden stick I left on the place in 2001. I use those sticks while surveying the gravity, so they are quite common in the area, and after 2.5 years the confluence stick was quite dark and had fallen down. At the second visit on the place in 2002, the GPS pointed out a location 8 m from the stick.
