25-Oct-2004 -- Having spent the weekend at the Tumbling Leaves Square Dance Festival in Bennington, VT, Cheryl and I took an extra day driving back to Virginia to enjoy the beautiful fall colors and do some GPSing (Geodashing and Confluence hunting) as well. It was late in the afternoon when we got to Riverton, NJ, just across the Delaware River from Philadelphia. The confluence at 40N 75W is in the Riverton Country Club. We parked Maggie (my 1988 Mazda) at the bend in Thomas Avenue right next to the golf course. Although only 4:30 in the afternoon, daylight was already fading and it was a weekday, so there were not many golfers out; I believe we saw two. Cheryl noted the incongruity of being out in the middle of a fairway doing the GPS dance and taking the requisite photos with no concern for interfering with anyone’s play. It was dark enough that my photo #5 of all zeros on my GPSr was less than stellar having to use the flash. Photos of the surrounding area to the north, east, west, and south (photos #1 to #4) show the autumn colors of the deciduous trees now beginning to lose their leaves. Having completed our mission, we returned to Maggie for the remainder of the trip home.
