#1: The confluence point lies 40m away, in the back yard of this house

(visited by Ross Finlayson)

25-Aug-2019 -- After visiting the Sanctuary Wood Museum (with its preserved World War I trenches) near Ypres, I continued on a maze of rural roads to reach this well-visited point, which lies in the back yard of a private residence. To avoid disturbing the residents, I stayed on the outside of the hedge that runs East-to-West behind the house. The Degree Confluence Point lies just inside the hedge; I was able to get as close as 4m (+/- GPS error) from the point.

As other visitors have noted, a sign on the front of the house points out its special status.
