05-Aug-2022 -- While driving from Rochester to Buffalo, I made a short detour to (re)visit one of the world’s easiest Degree Confluence Points, which lies on a paved road (which also runs North-South, making the directional photos easy). The only difficult thing about visiting this point is making sure no cars are approaching as you do the ‘confluence dance’ to get ‘all zeros’.
My previous visit to this point (during my ‘round the US' tour in 2011) was on a rainy Spring day. Today, it was warm and partly sunny. As there are private residences all around, I chose not to send up my drone to get an aerial view.
As several other visitors have noted, the town of LeRoy, New York has another claim to fame: It is the birthplace of Jell-O (gelatine dessert). After visiting the Degree Confluence Point, I stopped by the nearby Jell-O Museum.
