24-Apr-2005 -- This was my seventh confluence visit during a US trip that started with 46°N 123°W.
After trying 29°N 81°Wearlier in the day, I hoped to find a way to get close enough on this visit. To begin with, most of the gates are still closed and/or posted, while a couple of the roads shown on my topo maps doesn't seem to exist any more.
I finally decided to leave my car at the highway and walk down Fontana Lane, which currently is the only way to access the point. After about 1.5 km this road crossed Bull Creek, which would otherwise be a tough challenge. Just after the bridge the results of the development work seen on the 2002 pictures became visible: A very nice ranch to the north of the road.
I tried to hail someone at the house, while slowly walking a bit closer. It became obvious that the point is located just behind and to the right of the house, but since I didn't find anyone to ask permission I decided to turn around when my GPS indicated that I had passed the 100 m limit.
Anyone who wants to visit this point in the future should first find out who lives on Fontana Lane, contact them, and ask permission to visit their home.
Next, onwards to 29°N 82°W!
