07-May-2012 -- Viene de 29°N 82°W.

Hoy despierto bien temprano para ir en búsqueda de la confluencia 28°N 81°W localizada según la lectura de los reportes de previas visitas dentro de una hacienda al sur de Orlando. Para ello salgo de Orlando por la autopista 417 dirección Sur y luego tomo la carretera Narcoossee hacia el Sur.

Al llegar a la autopista 192 giro a la izquierda y continúo por la misma hasta intercepción con la carretera 441, donde giro a la derecha directo hacia la hacienda donde se encuentra la confluencia. Todo el tiempo iba rogando que el acceso en la hacienda estuviera abierto para ahorrarme la caminata, pero al llegar a Fontana Lane, la vía de acceso al Rancho Sunny (donde está la confluencia) me encuentro con la desagradable sorpresa de que la vía de acceso estaba cerrada con un portón con candado.

Empiezo a revisar la presencia de algún aviso que indicara la prohibición de pasar a la propiedad, pero no existe y mas bien observo una pequeña puerta que permite el paso de peatones solamente a la propiedad. Estaciono bien el carro y me preparo para una caminata a paso rápido de casi 2 km en cada sentido, por la trilla Fontana Lane de consistencia arenosa en un día bastante soleado.

En la caminata pude apreciar huellas de cocodrilos y el ruido que los mismos hacían al zambullirse en los canales laterales y en la quebrada Bull, la cual se cruza por medio de un puente de madera. Al llegar al portón de acceso a la casa de la hacienda, veo que el mismo tiene candado, pero logro pasar por una parte lateral de la cerca de alambres y continuo la caminata hacia la confluencia.

Ahora dentro del área hacia la confluencia, no veo nadie en los alrededores para solicitar permiso, ni un perro o animal que hiciera ruido. A unos 70 mts de la confluencia detengo mi acercamiento y procedo a tomar las fotos de rigor.

Una vez culminada la captura de las fotos, inicio la caminata de regreso a mi carro y cuando entro al carro lo primero que hago es encender el aire acondicionado al máximo, pero muy contento por el éxito de la cacería de esta confluencia.

Today I wake up very early to go in search of the confluence 28°N 81°W, that according to reports of previous visitors it is within a ranch located south of Orlando. So I leave Orlando by 417 southbound motorway and then take the Narcoossee Rd southward.

Once I reach 192 Highway, turn left and continue on it until interception with the Highway 441, where turning right, directly to the ranch where the confluence is located. All the time I was begging that access at the ranch was open to save me a hike, but arriving at Fontana Lane, I found the unpleasant surprise that the path to Sunny Ranch (where is the confluence) was closed with a lock gate.

I begin to check the presence of any no trespassing sign, but does not exist and rather see a small door that allows the passage of pedestrians only to the property. I park the car and prepare for a fast hike of almost 2 km in each direction, by the sandy Fontana Ln trail on a pretty sunny day.

In the walk I could see traces of crocodiles and the noise that they made to dive in the side channels and the Bull Creek, which is crossed by a wooden bridge. Arriving at the gate of access to the Ranch’s House, I see that is padlocked, but I can pass on a pass beside of the wire fence and continued walking towards the confluence.

Now in the confluence area, I do not see anyone in the vicinity to request permission, or a dog or animal that made any noise. About 70 meters from the confluence I stop my approach and take the pictures.

Once completed the photos capture, start the hike back to my car and when I get the car the first thing I did was to turn on the air conditioning to the maximum, but excited about the success of this confluence hunting.
