16-Jul-2005 -- This was the second of 2 Confluence Points we visited during the weekend. (See 52N 000). We were visiting the area on our way to Ipswich as we had to go to a meeting at BT Ipswich. As part of our summer holidays we are joining a BT founded charity called TELECOMS EASTERN EUROPEAN CHALLENGE. We are involved in a project in Romania to help renovate a care home for teenagers with challenging behaviour.
We had started our trip from Leicester after work on Friday and did 52N 000 that evening. We had finished our meeting about 14:00 however we then needed to get to Camden for a surprise party for our Aussie mate Kelly (in the middle) there was however enough time to get this CP on the way.
We parked the car at the nearest place we could drive to which an industrial estate entrance. There is only a little walk to the point however as with the previous days adventure the field was full of dried oil seed rape and this time there was no way we would attempt to get through so we had to look for another way. We walked down the road to the edge of the field where we were happy to find a little bridle way that ran alongside it. About halfway down this bridleway we crossed into the adjoining field which was full of spikey stumps from the crop and thistles.
After a few scratches we made it across the field and through the hedgerow to the exact point. Again we were happy to find that the CP was on the far edge of the oil seed rape crop. (Thank you God!!) After the important pictures were taken I had a quick look into the field behind where potatoes were growing and a large sprinkler was watering them. As it was a lovely hot day I decided to cool off a little and had a quick cold shower!! At the time of visiting there was a badger set in the south west corner of the field.
