12-Aug-2006 -- This confluence was visited three times (two successful visits) but we decided it would be a good short weekend trip. Driving from Ottawa took just 40 minutes. We left the car at some point on Pinery road and headed to the forest.
The forest was very dense so our path through the trees was rather chaotic. Some patches were flooded by swamp waters. After some bushwhacking we suddenly found a trail, wide enough even for a 4x4 car. Trail headed in confluence direction so I decided to walk along as far as possible. We found a trapper's cabin near the trail.
The confluence was just 150 meters from the trail.A little bit more of bushwhacking and we finally at the spot. I got my fair share of scratches trying to hunt down all zeroes on GPS in the dense forest.
After that we got back to the trail and it led us back to Pinery road, just hundreds of meters away from the place when we started our forest journey. Taking this trail from the very beginning would be much easier, however less fun. Trail is not shown on any map.
